Pelican HIS is a state-of-the-art system serving for automation of the blood service of the whole region as well as of the separate institutions.

 

The system:

  • builds the blood service single information space;
  • improves efficiency of providing the region healthcare system with blood components and products;
  • provides operations management of donations and transfusions in the region blood service;
  • provides operations management of blood components and products stocks in the region;
  • improves safety of transfusion therapy;
  • monitors transfusion “from a donor's vein to a recipient's vein”.

 

 

Pelican HIS Technology

 

The subjects of the single information space of the region blood service implemented by  Pelican HIS are:

  • Hemotransfusion stations;
  • Blood transfusion departments under medicoprophylactic institutions;
  • Hemotransfusion rooms under medicoprophylactic institutions;
  • Single donation center of the blood service.


Pelican HIS includes Web-service and desktop applications. For the technical resources to be minimum the hemotransfusion rooms work with the Web-service which requires only installed Internet-browser (Internet Explorer 7 or similar) for intercommunication. The hemotransfusion stations and hospital departments work with the desktop applications.

 

Pelican HIS:

Pelican HIS is built on the “ORACLE” technologies and makes it possible to use any technologically compatible solutions.

Efficient organization of data storage allows choosing and analyzing all the information stored in the database according to the criteria specified. The system meets all the up-to-date requirements of providing personal data protection.

The present data exchange regulations allow integrating  Pelican HIS with the present systems of institutions.

 

Pelican HIS Reception

It is a high-powered tool for communication with the donors which serves for donors' and doctors' time optimization. The component makes it possible to identify a patient by his surname, name, patronymic, birth date, bar-code and magnetic cards.

 

Pelican HIS Reception allows:

  • to display possible contraindications by the donation periods or diseases at the moment;
  • to photograph a donor for his further identification by photo;
  • to compile a referral for the laboratory examinations of a donor.

 

Pelican HIS Units

Pelican HIS units allow to compile and view medical records in a donor's electronic health card, compile referrals to lab examinations, register a deferral reason or a referral to donation/plasma- and cytopheresis; enter donation data, complications, received blood components; to view laboratory tests results, reject/quarantine/put in storage received blood components.

Pelican HIS prints certificates for the donor as well as the documents for material consideration and nutrition, technology stickers and bar-codes for donation. All the units allow identifying a donor by surname, name, patronymic, birth date, bar-code or magnetic cards. Pelican HIS keeps record of the blood components and products, stored in the technological storing places, record of product quarantine, compiles notes of the rejected blood handing over to utilization, notes of the rejected blood utilization, compiles and processes requisitions for blood components for hemotransfusions and compiles ministerial statistic forms.

Pelican HIS includes unit “Laboratory” serving for entry of laboratory examinations, laboratory examinations results as well as for automatic receiving of the data from the laboratory analyzers.

 

Pelican HIS Web-service


The Web-service allows automating the work of the hemotransfusion rooms and dispensaries with min technical costs. The service allows filling in the blood transfusion record sheets, compiling requisitions for donor's blood to hemotransfusion stations, compiling the lists of the persons with deferrals and the lists of epidemiological contacts. Web-service grants access to the statistics data about the blood stocks in the subjects and in the blood service totally.
