The hospital staff was provided with a computer class for training where lectures and practical trainings took place. In June, 2009 operational testing started and some recording forms were improved according to the hospital staff notes and suggetions. Since the last quarter of 2009 the Hospital staff has been operating Patient HIS in full force.
4. Implementation results:
Due to implementation the children's out-patient department, oncology and hematology center, laboratory, paraclinical unit and pharmacy were autometed. Medotrade's staff integrated Patient HIS with a DICOM-server thus allowing the staff to see radiological images from their workstations. As the hospital complex is unique, the "Pharmacy" subsystem was improved, and according to the staff's requests new documents and reporting forms were developed. Patient HIS use allowed the hospital staff to reduce significantly the time for medical documentation filling in, to have reliable and complete medical, statistical and administrative information.
